Coffee's Saturday Football Thread (Week 3)
Coffee is back next week, having turned down a lucrative offer to cover the Saudi league. The pull of Westhamonline was just too strong.

After last week, Chelsea were glad to meet a soft touch in Luton, a team that will be in the bottom 3 at the season end.

*Saturday

Bournemouth v Spurs (12:30)

Spurs have started better, but maybe flattered to deceived. Keeping Madison fit will be crucial. Bournemouth are adjusting to a new manager and new system. Factor in the early kick out, I anticipate a DRAW.

Arsenal v Fulham (15:00)

Arsenal have got results without overly impressing. Fulham look a bit blunt without Mitrovic. A narrow HOME WIN

Brentford v Crystal Palace (15:00)

Brentford have made light of the loss of Toney. Palace are dogged but hardly free scoring. Another narrow HOME WIN.

Everton v Wolves (15:00)

Not a game I would pay to watch. Everton are dire. Wolves are a bit better but goal shy. Wolves have more talent and should find a way to create a moment to unlock the Dyche long ball game. AWAY WIN

Man Utd v Notts Forest (15:00)

An underwhelming season start. The Norwich scarf wearing brigade are uneasy. 10Hag sounding a little less self-assured. Forest still seem to be a team that relies on home form for points to survive. Man Utd to lift it enough and with the help of VAR if needed, all will be roosy in the red garden by 5pm. HOME WIN

Brighton v West Ham (17:30)

This is an interesting clash between a young progressive manager and one of the games dinosaurs.

The heart and head are confusing my thoughts. Surely, they have been weakened by players out. We have used the Rice money well, although some are not ready for action. Are we going to surprise them? or maybe young Evan Ferguson will show us the importance of a proper striker and trusting in youth. They have been free scoring and a joy to watch. Moyes’s wet dream, will be a 0-0.

Suddenly, I am feeling less confident. Let’s go with the head and hope I am wrong. HOME WIN.

*Sunday

Burnley v Aston Villa (14:00)

I doubt I will watch. Villa just back from a game in the massive Europa Conference League. Watkins & Co to have more fire power. AWAY WIN.

Sheff Utd v Man City (14:00)

Sheff Utd are pointless, in every sense. That won’t change today. A handsome away win. Not much else to say. AWAY WIN

Newcastle v Liverpool (16:00)

This could be a decent game. Challengers to the top two. Newcastle on an upward curve, Liverpool a bit battered and trying to re-invent themselves. Expect goals form both sides. Maybe one for the fence. DRAW

A £2 accum returns £2,300. Dream on.

Garth Crooks is a pointless cunt. No interest in his opinions

Fair play to Liverpool they hung in the game with a couple of great saves from Allison.
With 10 men you just have to keep it at 0-1 and keep Newcastle nervous. Must say it never looked like Newcastle had an extra man but you'd have to feel hard done by to be beaten by two ruthless finishes by Nunez. Not his style at all so far

Typical refereeing from Brooks though. Identical situation with Aguerd & TAA .... one soft booking then an obvious one. Couldnt get Aguerd off quick enough but bottled it with a Liverpool player

I'd be mildly amused if he became widely known as "Box-Ticker Crookes". But only mildly - even the woke among us have feelings that must be respected.

Rarely seen such an impact from a sub as Nunez yesterday, incredible cameo. Howe is kopping a bit of stick up there for his subs, as we know ourselves it's not easy to get over the line against these big sides, and this is a big reality check for the Toon.

Tindall is indeed a cunt, east end boy I believe, he must be good at what he does for Howe to suffer the fucking big bully for all these years, cunt acts like a doorman on the touchline, that or he has some snaps of the thunderbird puppet.

Not a big fan of Garth Crooks anyway, I’m sure he’s there to tick some boxes.
But surely one of our players should make his team of the week…?

As vile as those street rats are you have to take your hat off to the bin dippers for that performance I thought they deserved that
Two cracking finishes from Nunez

If you're more than a couple of points off 8th place at the start of December you can probably kiss goodbye of any hope of European qualification via league position. Gonna be tight this year.

Liverpool needed that more than a fan needed moody ticket to an FA Cup Semi-Final.

That Jason Tindale is a bit of a cunt isn't he?

Absolutely loves himself

Still encroaching in the managers area when warned

2 excellent finishes from Nunez, Newcastle didn't kill Liverpool off when they had the chance.

Howe the messiah, Howe the new breed of manager sits below Moyes the dinosaur.

As much as I dislike the scoucers. Fair play takes some doing coming from 1 nil down up there to win especially with 10 men .

Carragher wouldn't recognise a goal painted on a barn door, even if it was lit by a flotilla of super troupers.

Carragher is hilarious..." how do you know its a goal scoring opportunity"? Ermmm...he was clean through but swiped away..
Yesterday Forest had a red card for 90% less!
